atmp has developed two specific targeted Retail Training Programs aligned to the
National Qualifications in the SIR07 Retail Services training Package.
Certificate II in Retail
For frontline staff in Service stations, C-Stores and
retail businesses. atmp also have a number of aligned programs delivered in a
flexible format to suit such as Food Safety and Minimise Theft. The atmp
e-learning options also cover the legislative compliance and assessment records
businesses need today.
Certificate III in Retail Operations and Certificate IV in Retail Management
Delivered as a nested program called atmp Store Manager Training. This is a 24
month program delivered using workplace business activities and assignments for
assessment and learning.

In past years atmp training and skill development in partnership with AACS
provided a distance learning training program to the P & C Channel of Trade.
This program was designated a valuable pre-requisite to the AACS simulation
program.

This program was designated a valuable pre-requisite to the AACS simulation
program.
It was designed to provide students with a text book and assessment
activities about C-Store Operations and Development. Students had 6 months in
which to complete the activities and return to an atmp assessor for feedback.
AACS provided two bi-annual achievement awards for students who excelled.
atmp collected feedback from the industry and the course participants. In
genera participants told us:
- They found it difficult to budget time for self paced learning.
- They needed facilitator motivation to complete the learning assignments.
- That although the text was appropriate for the industry, they would like
more opportunity to discuss issues with facilitators.
- They would prefer a form of facilitated workshop and hands on training.
In response to this feedback - atmp launched a new version of this program in
2007.
Convenience Store Merchandising & Operations Principles
Is now a 3 day workshop covering a comprehensive introduction to planning and
operating a successful convenience store.
The program will be beneficial for all C-Store retailers, P & C Channel
suppliers and associates who wish to develop the skills and knowledge required
to develop, locate and manage a C-Store operations in a specific trading
demographic.
The main tenets of the program are focused on kinaesthetic learning where
participants in workgroups and teams conduct hands on research, analysis and
discussion using the training content and the experience of the facilitator's
years of C-Store experience to:
- Prepare a development proposal for a NEW C-Store location.
- Profile Market Demographics - identifying who is the C-Store Customer.
- Locate a C-Store in a trading area.
- Develop a C-Store Strategy and Store Layout.
- Set up Category Management and Product Displays.
- Identify a C-Store Food Service Offer for their demographic.
- Develop a C-Store Service, Selling & Promotions Strategy.
- Control gross profits and manage operating costs.
- Implement C-Store Management & Operations processes.
Teams will present a final strategy for their designated trading area and
demographics that will be judged by the facilitators for competencies in the
development of a C-Store and the strategies of successful store operations.
Successful participants will be eligible for four Statements of Attainment
from Certificate 3 and 4 Retail Management Packages. atmp is a Registered
Training Organisation and upon assessment of the evidence provided by the
participants during the workshop are able to issue these Nationally Recognised
Qualifications.

Laws. (aligned to SIRRFSA001A).
Food Safety - Implement & Monitor food Safety Plans
Designed for Food Service and Retail Supervisors who need to acquire the
skills and knowledge to develop and implement food safety plans and practices to
their business - according to Food Safety Laws and Obligations. (aligned to
SIRRFSA002A).
Store Security & Armed Robbery Training
This short facilitated workshop has been developed by atmp Pty Ltd
specifically for C-Store and Service Stations. These types of retail outlets
have long been the target of armed robberies as well as subject to customer
theft from shop stealing.
